Proof I've been waiting too long...
06/18/06With apologies to Clay and the writers of "This Is the Night," I give you a new song:
Let This Be the Week
When the world was much younger (and so was I) I said take all the time you need But I can’t wait much longer, my patience is starting to bleed Cause every click is a click I can never get back…
Please don’t play hide and seek If you told us QUITE soon meant forever, well you’d be right. Brush the hair from your eyes See us, Clay, hon, we’re dyin’ here, really, so please hear our cries.
We’ve been waiting forever for this, Let this be the week.
When the answer to all our prayers is as close as a press release away Why do you keep holding back what you must want to say? Shout it out for all to hear Tell us when, tell us what, tell us how, tell us who, tell us where. Give us news, hear our plea Rock our socks, make us EEEEEE, make us thrum, make us moan, make us squee.
We’ve been waiting forever for this Let this be THE week.
Let this be the week that we hear your first single and let our tour planning begin. After this week we will never (well, not as often) be demanding again.
We want news, we want clack Once that press release is finally sent out, there’ll be no turning back. Hear us beg, hear us weep We want music and laughter and cellcerts, we'll gladly lose sleep.
We’ve been waiting forever for this Let this be THE week.
Let this be the week when the news starts to rain down and all our frustrations will end. After this week may we never be clackless again.
Show us shock, show us awe Cause your “tid” was too tiny and your “bit” never happened at all End our wait, set us free Give us web sites to crash, polls to spam, snips to hear, clips to see. We’ve been waiting forever for this, Let. this. be. THE. WEEK!
....................................
And to prove waiting is making me crazy, I add this, with apologies to Dr. Seuss and his marvelous “Green Eggs and Ham”:
I do not like this waiting game If I wait much more, I’ll go insane I do not like it now or then Not anywhere not anywhen Not with a rumor, not with humor Not at work or at home, not with a joke or a tome I do not like this waiting game If I wait much more, I’ll go insane.
Would you, could you, with a hug? Would you, could you, with a tug? Would you, could you, with a tidbit? Would you, could you, quietly sit? Would you, could you, with a wave? Won’t you wait to right click and save?
Not with a hug. Not with a tug. Not with a tidbit. No! I won’t quietly sit. Not with a wave. MUST right click and save.
Press release = more Clay, more clack I want him now, I want him back! I want him on radio, TV, everywhere I want the hawt! I want the hair! I want him to sing, and laugh, and speak I want a tour, I want a meet & greet. I want him any place, anytime, anyhow I want a press release, and I want it now! I do not like this waiting game If I wait much more, I’ll go insane.
(wait, I already am…)
