One down...

11/26/07

Well, my feet are some kinda sore, from standing the whole time in that one spot!. But, I have to say I think it was worth it. I really think this tour is gonna be my favorite in a while. Now I'm sure that plenty of you will spend way more time than you should sitting around and writing on the boards about what I should have done differently or better, but lucky for me, I spent so much time reading all of those stories this past month that I don't really have the energy to go and read the boards. I figure that, as with every show, there are some who loved it and some who didn't. Talk more. Talk less. Faster songs. Slower songs. More medleys. Less medleys. There's always something! ;) Variety IS, however, the spice of life. Summer was full of light heartedness and silliness. I had a blast. SPAMalot is nothing but goofiness and stupidity. I can't wait! But, Christmas.... Christmas has always been to me a time to celebrate the birth of Christ and cherish the moments with friends and loved ones. Not a time to grind on a background singer or tell fart jokes with the audience. So I am so thrilled with the way the show went tonight! The stories that were told tonight reminded us of the fun that can come with the holiday, the power and importance of family and those we care about, and the spirit and strength that comes from believing in the true meaning of the season. Hopefully the music complimented the stories that those four ladies were generous enough to share with us.

A few special thanks to folks who worked behnd the scenes to make some of the elements of this tour possible. Annie Kaye of Kaye Houston Music who made sure all of the orchestra musicians have copies of Jesses "handiwork". Annette Hansen of Annette's Alterations in Selma, NC who made sure the ladies look so WONDERFUL in their gowns for this tour. Jason Gangi who has joined the "family" this year to shine the right amount of light on us all on stage. Fern Alvarez returns to make sure you can hear us all. And, of course, Jamie, Mary, and Jerome... for just being them!

I hope many of you got the same joy out of the show as Quiana, Angela, Jesse, Sean and I got from bringing it to you. I'm really excited about the next several weeks. Seeing you all, and hearing from you all is always a thrill for me this time of year. As we listen to some of the most memorable and powerful memories of some of your own holiday traditions, I can't hep but realize and be grateful for the fact that sharing the season with you each year has become my holiday tradition.

Love you See you on the road!
