Blog Entry
My Second Blog.
10/30/05Thank you to each and every person who posted a comment on my blog, I enjoyed reading every one of them.
Yes, I have read every one of the entries.
Now to really prove that I have read the entries, I will attempt to answer some questions. LOL
Canuck2010, you asked me what “weebale” means?
Weebale means thank-you in the language that is spoken in Luganda.
I have eggs all over my face right now because when I did a Goggle search of languages I must have been half asleep. I thought that I read that Luganda was the language that was spoken in Uganda.
I went back and did another search and to my surprise. English is the main language that is spoken in Uganda.
I am so glad now that I did not have the word “Weebale” on a sign this past summer at one of the concerts. I don’t EVEN want to think what snarky remark Clay would have made. LOL
Note to self….”stick to the English language the next time you want to send out a thank you to Clay.” LOL
Lucia 4clay…here is my email address. Mackie1320@yahoo.com I am looking forward to seeing you again and I hope it will be next summer…unless you will be coming to the states for JNT 2.
Claymakesmeshine, yes, I danced at the Charlotte concert. I don’t think I even need to go into how bad Clay was at that concert. LOL
Cristine, that is so cool that we have Clay and crocheting in common. I need to finish an afghan that I started making last year for my son.
Saltwaterdog, thanks for not giving up on me. This blogging thing was something that I did not think that I would do. LOL BTW I owe you a big hug since you thought that I was 20years younger. LOL
Hey Galadriel, umm yes, I guess it was about time that I showed up. LOL
Lyndsay4clay. I am glad to know that things with your family are getting back to normal.
Hi Kimwolfe, Woot, woot, RCA Board in da house!! LOL
FtrSaxyPa4CalynOK…I too miss our late night chats on the RCA Board. I am so proud of you. Please tell the gang hi for me.
2606Cindy, nothing like letting a 52 year old cat out of the bag. LOL I am glad you admitted your age. I say “come on in the water is just fine.” LOL
Mewster, hey lady. I am STILL enjoying mah goodies. LOL Vicky Aiken…It is so good to hear from you. Hugs back to you.
Zippydew…yes finally! LOL Celebith, I miss you lady, any new stories? I lost my other email addresses. When you have the time can you email me?
WalkingGhost, you are right. I did wear a shirt that said “Yes I’m Ethel.” A few people have let me know how they felt about those shirts and I told them why I had that put on those shirts. After the Charlotte show last year and the interview that Clay did for WRAL Radio where he talked about his bad behavior at the Charlotte show, a lot of people asked me if I was Ethel.
The idea came to me one day before the start of the JBT to put Yes; I’m Ethel on a few t-shirts and wear the shirts to the concerts.
I know it looked like I was being self promoting...but I thought it was a good idea along with it being kind of a fun thing to do. LOL
I believe that I was asked what JNT 2 shows I will be attending.
Since I did not win the lottery, I will be attending the Louisville and Cincinnati shows. No need in telling a lie. If I had the money and the time, I would go to……OK, I will say it. I would go to all of the shows. LOL
The thought came to me the other day about what I should blog about this time. I really want to blog about this subject. It won’t be too long promise. LOL
I feel the need to “Take it there.”
There? Where? OK Ethel, get to the dang point!
What is it like being an African American Clay Aiken Fan?
When I am at a venue to attend Clay’s concert, I have looked around. Do I see a lot of people who look like me? No. Do I tell myself that I am in the wrong place? No.
When I wear my Clay t-shirts around my neighborhood, I sure get the looks. Some people will look at the shirt, look at me, and then look again at my shirt. I take a deep breath because by the look on their face I can anticipate what is coming next. LOL
Then here it comes…”what, you don’t like Reuben?” I answer…”yes, but its Clay that has me whipped.” LOL
I then have to go into my “Educate this person about Clay mode.” I start out by informing the person if they knew that Clay has African American back-up singers and then I proceed to tell them about Jerome/Aaron as well as the band. The part that I love to tell some of the people who only know of Clay from AI are…..”Clay doesn’t seem to have a problem with African American people and I for one don’t have a problem with Clay.”
There was a big lie going around in some African American communities about Clay being prejudiced. When someone told me this lie, I almost fell on the ground laughing.
I have to admit that I seem to be a one person spokesperson educating people in my neighborhood about Clay.
Hmm, I wonder how much I can charge Clay for this publicity. LOL
One last thing that I have to admit….I pimp Clay’s music in the car a LOT. I listen to it as loud as these 52 year old ears can stand! LOL
There is NO shame in my game! LOL
I just want to end this blog with a hello to the following people:
