On Friday night, I will be sleeping in my own bed for the first time since hurricane Katrina. My family is moving back to New Orleans on Friday. I feel like I've been living in a dream. My excitement is tempered a bit by the fact that I will still have to live in Baton Rouge during the week because of my job. My son will go to his old high school in New Orleans and will live with my mom and sister during the week. I'll be bi-city for the foreseeable future. It won't be too bad - kind of like when I was going to college at LSU back in the day. ;)

We are so much more fortunate than many others whose lives were devastated by Katrina. We were blessed.

I'm beginning to feel a little more hopeful about New Orleans. For a while, I was not very optimistic. It seems like the government is finally taking some action to keep the city from dying a slow death.

I'd like to thank everyone for your prayers and support during this very difficult time. I don't know what I would have done without you and that great guy we all love.
