Christmas in the Heartland
11/10/07
This is my older sister and me. I think this is my very first Christmas. Look at how somebody put the Christmas tree up on top of that bookcase. I think they were trying to keep a certain toddler out of it, but I'm not 100% sure about that. In any event, take a gander at that good looking dog Santa brought me. He has a red ribbon around his neck (potential choking hazard), sleepy puppydog eyes (potential lead paint hazard) and a squeaky nose (potential choking hazard). My sister got a doll, as you can see. Apparently it had an edible head. I don't know what the heck she's doing to that doll, but let's just say, I'm not surprised.
I still have that dog.
I think this is from my second Christmas. I got a horse. And a hat. No chaps though. And I remember being embarrassed that I had no cowgirl boots, only footie pajamas. Anyway, I rode the rocking horse until I couldn't walk, and when it was time to eat, my dad had to pick me up, still attached to the horse, and carry it into the kitchen to make me eat. I think they fed me between gallops. I'm pretty sure I threw up. Take a look at my grouchy sister in the background. Nice hair.
I still have that horse.
This is my second or third Christmas, I can't remember. Our tree doesn't look so good. But look at my shiny hair and scuffed shoes! I'm so CUTE OMG!!! And that's my sister standing back there, omnipresent, scheming ways to get me to eat dirt sandwiches.
I still have that sister.
Good times, good times.
