Stump the band

08/22/05

OMG, so much Clack, so little time! I am on Clack overload lately and my computer is filling up fast. My DH said the other night that the computer seemed to be running a bit more slowly lately. Hee. Little does he know that at the time I was downloading about 6 videos all at once. I guess his stupid Spider Solitaire game was cranking out the cards in slow-mo. Tough cookies! I think he’s obsessed with that game. I just can’t understand this obsessing about something on the computer! Today will forever be known in my mind as the post-WAMLAW day. I was thrilled when Clay decided to play Stump the Band, as we all were. I thought it was cool the way he had the balls to request songs from the audience and attempt to please his fans with singing them. I knew from the start that it wasn’t about the band. It was all about him entertaining us. Little did I know that he would manage to blow us all away with the song that most of us have been dying for him to sing for ages. While listening on the cell stream I thought I heard him actually preparing to sing this, but I could hardly believe my ears. I kept thinking “No, he’ll just play around with it and ask for something else.” How wrong I was! When I finally realized he was actually going to be singing it, I closed my eyes and crossed everything that it would be good. I didn’t want him to not be good on this song. I can’t imagine why I thought this, but I did. Well, as everyone knows, he nailed it! Thanks to WinkyDink’s lyrics and the fans’ suggestions and the amazing, mind-blowing talent that Clay continues to display night after night, he finally sang a song that I have been wanting him to sing forever, it seems. At this point, I can’t imagine what he will pull out of his hat to add to the respect I have for his talent. I’m planning on staying around to find out, though. Not that I’m obsessed or anything.
