My Grandmother turned 101 today, I wonder how life was for someone born in 1906. I remember growing up with her stories, but unfortunately I've forgotten most of them now. My son said yesterday he wished Great-Grandma could remember things from her childhood he would like to ask her questions, unfortunately at 101 her memory is pretty much gone, also most of her eyesight and hearing. Her days pretty much consist of sitting on the couch or napping.
I remember she made the best apple pies and cinnamon rolls, I wish I would have watched her close enough to get her secrets, as she didn't have recipes, just a touch of this or a pinch of that. Tomorrow we will celebrate with her favorite cake-carrot cake.
