Buckeye's win!
11/24/05<font/color=white>So I went home for last weekend for thanksgiving. My family is very non-traditional so with 2 older siblings we tend to have holidays not on the actual day. It has become a tradition in our own family now to celebrate Thanksgiving during the Buckeye's vs. Mchg*n game. (for those that actually don't know that game is ALWAYS the last game of the season)
And we won!!! Oh man was it a good game!
Ohio State hired Jim Tressel to win, especially against Michigan.
The Buckeyes beat the Wolverines 25-21 Saturday, giving Tressel a 4-1 record in the storied rivalry.
Random fact for the day: Francis Schmidt was the last Ohio State coach to win four of his first five against the Wolverines, and that was in the 1930s.
Smith threw for a career-high 300 yards and a TD and scored once on the ground. The Buckeyes lost two fumbles, both of which led to scores, and didn't force a turnover.
We lost one of our standout linebackers, Bobby Carpenter, with a broken right ankle on Michigan's first drive.
To me in the end it was the I think 26 yard throw to Gonzales with about a minute left that actually turned the game around. Smith spun out of a tackle, we all thought he would throw it away, but with one foot in the air threw an amazing pass down the line. IMHO that was pivotal.
The Buckeyes will have to wait until Dec. 4, when the final Bowl Championship Series rankings are released, to find out where their season will end.
OSU is going to share the conference championship with Penn State. (bet Nick is happy about that sticks tounge out) But the Nittany Lions will earn the automatic BCS bid because they beat the Buckeyes. Which is crap, we should have won that damn game!
