Yes, I know I've been quite remiss in updating my blog...but I've had much more important things to do...like traveling to various JBT concerts to see the incredible Clay Aiken sing to me, downloading loads of clack to keep me entertained for hours, and right-clicking-and saving hundreds (okay...thousands) of beautiful concert pictures taken by many of our esteemed clack-gatherers!

Now that I have time to sit back and reflect....I'm trying to figure just what came over me this summer!! Initially, I was only expecting to attend one concert...two if I were extremely lucky….but somehow, two turned in to seven!! GAH!

I was scheduled to be out of town for the first concert at Tom’s River, and I really had no desire to return to Musikfest after my experience there last year. That left the last show at the Borgata…but I had visions of another bloodbath trying to get tickets similar to last years NAT concert at Caesers! That’s when I decided to go to the Indy State Fair and meet up with friends that I have been posting with at CV! I booked my flight and was excited to have one definite concert to attend…and possibly 2, depending on the ticket sales for AC!

As the opening concert drew near, I just could not bear to miss it…so I made a deal with my husband…he and my youngest son would drive to Massachusetts on Thursday while I took my oldest son with me to Tom’s River….we would then catch a plane on Friday morning and meet up with them in time for the wedding Friday night! That was how I got to concert number 1!!

Next, I heard that vjm was going to drive to Wolf Trap by herself to meet up with friends down there….I immediately volunteered to keep her company on the drive down…that was concert number 2!!

The following week, I got on the plane as scheduled and flew to Indianapolis to see Clay at the Indy State Fair!! I’ve never gone away by myself…ever!! I had a great time…and had the pleasure of shaking Clay’s had by the buses!! sigh That was concert number 3!

For the longest time, I was contemplating going to the Boston concert….after all, my in-laws live an hour south of Boston, and I’d have a place to stay! Unfortunately, we were just up there for the wedding on July 29th, and my DH did not want to make another trip up North. I had pretty much resolved myself to the fact that I would not be attending this concert….then lo and behold….susandavis PM’d me at work Wednesday afternoon, asking me if I wanted to meet her in Boston on Saturday to go to the NH/Boston 2fer! Of course I though she was crazy!! Yep….just as crazy as me…as I proceeded to book airfare to Boston….without tickets to either concert!! GAH!! Needless to say…we managed to make hotel reservations and find decent tickets to both shows!! That was concerts 4 and 5!!

Then there was the Borgata…ticket buying for the 8/31 was stressful, just like I thought it would be….but I was thrilled to get 2 tickets!! They weren’t the greatest seats…but I was in the building…and there for the last show…..that is until TM added another show!! Now you know there was absolutely NO way in hell that I was going to pass up a second show at the Borgata…my nimble fingers went to work and I managed to snag 6th row seats for the final show!! Wahoo!! That made concerts 6 and 7 !!

I had the time of my life this summer!! I met lots of people from all the boards and had a great time watching Clay perform!! He’s madly talented, charismatic and sexy as all get out!! I don’t know if I’ll ever go on another adventure like this for a long, long time….but I will hold these memories near and dear to my heart!!

I can’t wait for the new CD to drop!!
