Summer of Love ... A Special Journey

Sending out blessings today to all my dear friends here. Wishing you a day of sunshine, peacefulness, and love.
I've been thinking about the word encouragement. How often do we take the time to look around us and see the needs of others? I believe that God gives each of us a special gift for encouragement. I also believe that He places others in our lives that we might grow right beside them within that action of encouragement.
I've been blessed to have some of the kindest friends. It's amazing really how God puts them there at just the right time. I often pray that He is using me in that same capacity as well. I know that He is and my heart is content as I feel Him working in and through me to meet the needs of others. Love and encouragement are a responsibilty as much as they are a gift. We must choose to give them. Sometimes I think the greatest lessons in life are shown to us when we focus on others.
I would encourage you to make an effort this week to reach out and lift up someone else. I believe that God fills our hearts with wisdom and love as we allow Him to use us to love one another.
Love it is an action, a feeling, a fullness, a gift to our spirit, a bond or union between two hearts, and an eternal blessing we all can share.

Gus and I enjoyed our trip to Tulsa last weekend. The driving was long but it flew by because we shared in singing along to some of our favorite songs. We met up and enjoyed the companionship of special friends and together we shared the blessing of beautiful music. Our first stop in this Summer of Love was everything we expected and more. And just think we’ve only just begun as our next stop comes this Saturday when we will attend Clay's concert in Columbus Ohio. I will look back at our time in Tulsa with fond memories of special moments.
Sitting in the Brady Theatre a week ago I found myself feeling a special fullness. Surrounded by friends and celebrating a special man and his amazing voice, I couldn't help but wonder was all this part of God's plan for me, my friends, and even that sweet man on the stage? As I looked into his eyes while he sang such songs as ‘When I See You Smile’, ‘Everything I Have’, ‘Measure of A Man’, and ‘Because You Loved Me’, I saw a special light within him. I have always felt like I could see him come alive in his songs when he takes that stage. I love to see him feel the words as he sings them and he allows me to feel them as well. Clay has this ability to take you on a journey as you listen. You want to smile in the hopes that maybe your smile might make that difference in his life. You can't help but love the way he loves his fans and wants to please them. Within the laughter and the joy he shares with us you find yourself leaving with new memories and savoring another taste of the gift of love. At least I do every time I find myself there among so many who love to enjoy the gifts of this special man. He is a blessing to me!!
