The national (and international) news services have been reporting an incident that happened in my neck of the woods. Some local residents saw strange objects flying around and couldn't explain what they were.

I didn't see the object, but hope it was something benign like ET, not hostile people-hunters like Predator, or voracious people-eaters like Signs, War of the Worlds, and the big headed aliens in the Twilight Zone episode To Serve Man. Wake up! It's a cookbook!

I think one of the scariest movies about alien abduction is Fire In The Sky. It's based on a reported incident that happened to Travis Walton (portrayed by D.B. Sweeney) and his fellow loggers in Northwestern Arizona in 1975. Travis described being taken into a spacecraft and painfully examined by aliens.

The scenes in the spacecraft are terrifying. Not just the way he was mistreated, but his observations of others in the craft. It's enough to cause nightmares. It wasn't a Club Med experience.

I'd like to see a UFO, but wouldn't like them to see me. We're thinking of posting a sign on our roof that says MOVE ALONG! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!

Maybe there are aliens just trying to get to NYC to see a Broadway show. Maybe they took a wrong turn in Oklahoma.
