3 favorite concert memories
03/12/06Since both the Fan Club board and Clayversity are talking about their favorite tour moments, I thought I would put my post here as well, so I can come back in years to come and relive these three fantastic memories.
Like just about everyone else I have many favorite memories and every concert brings something different and exciting. I will mention three that stick out.
First was when I flew to Raleigh for Clayvention and my friend was picking my mom and I up for the airport. We were getting a cellcert from our friends at the Uniondale IT concert. I had gotten off the plan and headed to backage claim. My friend was already on the phone listening to the cellcert. We couldn't leave the airport or we would loose the connection in the parking garage, so we chose to stay in the airport for the rest of the show. Anyway, we are sitting there sharing a phone and all of a sudden we hear pretty clearly "Hello this is Clay Aiken, who is this?" We didn't say anything at first because we figured he was talking to someone else, but he kept saying "who is this?" We finally realized he was talking to us, so we started yelling our names at him and we dropped to the floor in the middle of the airport on our knees. My mom still to this day says we looked ridiculous and she is surprised we didn't get kicked out of the airport. We went on to talk to Clay on the phone and he even sang WYSYLM to us. Amazing! I can't even put into words how cool it was to talk to Clay on the phone and then watch the video and hear him say my name.
The second amazing thing that happened was a few concerts later during the IT in Winston Salem. My friend and I weren't even planning on going to this show, because we hadn't realized that more than one or two concerts was ok. However, after Columbus we just had to go again. The day before the show, we decided to check ticketmaster and if we got awesome seats we would go. Well, awesome is an understatement. We both ended up getting a pair of seats in the 2nd and 3rd row behind the catwalk!!! As soon as Clay came out, I decided that I was not standing two rows behind the catwalk, so I jumped over the row ahead of me and made my way right up to the baracade. Now I am perfectly positioned in the middle of that catwalk!! You know how during IT Invisible he would choose one lucky lady at the end of the catwalk and tease her in the middle of the song and then later, come back and gentle and slowly take her hand? Well, that was me!!!! I still get butterflies thinking about him locking his eyes into mine and not looking away until he had no where else to go but to turn around. It was the most magical moment of my life. It felt like he was looking deep into my soul. I felt a connection that day that I didn't even know was possible to feel with someone who you had never met. My friend from a row back even said that it looked like he was going to jump right off that stage and into my arms. That is how deep our look was. Wow! I think I just thudded again....Amazing!
The third was not as cool as the previous two, but Raleigh JNT05 I was sitting front row center. It was amazing to watch him in his home town from that close and it was so very special to hear him dedicate that song to his Papa and watch his face as he sang that song to him. Another Amazing moment!
I can not wait to have many, many more amazing moments in my fandom! Bring on that CD and tour Clay! I'm waiting as patiently as I possibly can!
