I MET CLAY AIKEN!
11/30/05I Left my Heart in Louisville, KY on 11/25/05 - where I met Clay Aiken. I love Clay now more than ever (who thought it was possible to love him more?) Louisville and Cincinnatti shows were awesome. Our seats were VERY good, in 1st Row and 6th Row - Clay was BEAUTIFUL as usual. AND I got the Christmas gift of my dreams. I MET CLAY AIKEN in Louisville KY on Nov. 25, 2005.
First, while waiting for Clay - I thanked Jerome for taking care of Clay, and told him we appreciate and love him too. He smiled and said thank you.
MY MEET N GREET WITH CLAY 11/25/05 LOUISVILLE, KY It may have been cold in KY that night, but immediately after Clay Aiken entered the room I felt hot, flushed and started sweating. Being near the back of the line was great because I got to watch Clay with almost everyone else. He is GORGEOUS up close in person - more than ANY picture or video can capture. Graceful, charming, quick-witted, beautiful. So, here's my story...
As my turn came, I handed Nick my camera - and a gift for Clay - a birthday booklet all about 1978. Clay put out his hand to shake mine and said "Hi, what's your name". From the moment he looked to ask me my name, to the moment I walked away, his eyes NEVER left mine except for a second to glance down and sign my program, and to smile for the camera during our photo. So, I said "Hi Clay, I'm Tina". He said "Hi Tina, nice to see you again". Looking into each others eyes (and those green eyes are the most beautiful eyes I ever saw in my entire life) - I looked at him, shocked. I said, "Clay, you never saw me before". He said "Haven't we met before?" I said "No Clay, we never met before". He was quite certain we had met, and said "Sure we did, we met before". I laughed and said "Clay, we DEFINITELY never met before! I would have remembered that!" I told him he probably has seen me at concerts (there were 2 shows we made eye contact, MSG last year and A/C JBT). Maybe I SHOULD have said, yes Clay - we met in our dreams LOL
Then he asked where I was from, I told him I overcame a fear of flying and came from NYC to meet him tonight". He asked where in NYC, did I live in Manhattan? I said no, I actually live a few minutes from the airports (not knowing if he knew what Queens was, that was the reference point I used).
He signed my program, and it was picture time. I stood an inch or so from him - not wanting to 'crowd his space'. He put his arm around my waist and gently but firmly squeezed and pulled me closer to him. I could have died right there, but somehow I didn't. I put my arm around his waist and squeezed him right back. Of course, he had a jacket on, but it was surreal and wonderful.
I felt VERY comfortable with him, very "at home" standing with him, looking into his eyes and chatting. Like I knew him my whole life. I told him I will see him tomorrow night in Cincinatti and all 3 nights at the Beacon in NYC (altho it may only be 2, I'm not sure yet). He seemed genuinely SURPRISED and was like "Really???" I smiled and said YES.
As I turned to walk away, he grabbed my hand in his again, I told him I loved him since May 20, 2003, and more every day since - and that is our anniversary. He said "that was late in in the show!". I told him that I didn't watch the show, and that I found him by accident. He said "I was an accident, my mom says that". I said "a beautiful accident".
I turned to leave and I heard his voice say "Tina" (what an amazing sound THAT was!) I turned back to look at him, and he said "do you want your camera back, or can I keep it". I said "you can keep it if you want to, but my dad will kill me - it's his camera".
I went and got my camera from him, and said by the way Happy Birthday, he said "thank you", and I left. I squeezed a LOT of chatter into my 2-3 minutes with Clay, this was mostly the highlights. He signed my program "Tina - Merry Christmas Clay Aiken"
