I'm completely bored and trying not to reach for the potato chips so I decided to share some deep philosophical thoughts with you.

Okay. I've got nothing. Thinking makes my head hurt. Maybe that's why I try not to do it too often. Hey! Maybe I would make an excellent true fan after all.

So why am I avoiding the chips? I started a diet last week because I gained 7 pounds while I was on vacation in June and I was already 5 pounds over my target weight before that. I'm trying the South Beach diet which has worked wonders for my older brother who I will refer to as Grouchy from now on. About 5 months ago, Grouchy was diagnosed with diabetes and his doctor told him he could give up the sugar and bad carbs or die. Being a huge fan of breathing, Grouchy opted to go on South Beach. Since then he's lost 40 pounds. The funny thing is he still eats an obscene amount of food but not anything on the forbidden list. While I eat only an R-rated amount of food, I also like to eat a lot. I figured this was the plan for me. I've lost 4 pounds so far. With 5000+ people monitoring my progress, how can I fail? Okay, maybe the 3 people who actually read this will keep me motivated.
