CDs & Concerts

02/17/06

Yes, I'm still around... it's been a busy time for me recently.

In thinking ahead to the new CD, it's interesting to look around the fan club & notice the diverse musical tastes of Clay's fans. The most recent 5 artists I've seen (or will see) in concert are: - Jason Mraz - Clay Aiken - Lenny Kravitz - Ricky Martin - Bonnie Raitt

I haven't actually seen Bonnie yet, but I have a ticket to one of her shows at the end of this month. As you can see, I have pretty eclectic taste in music. It is one of my passions.

And speaking of concerts, I may post links to my photos from some of the concerts I've attended. Here's a link to my photos of Lenny Kravitz:

Lenny Kravitz - Orlando, FL - January 2006

He rocked! Literally! He's a great musician & very entertaining. He must have about a bazillion different guitars. He interacts with the audience like a true "Rock Stah" (I think my photos capture some of the aura, though I was in the lower bowl toward the back of the floor - thank goodness for zoom lenses!) He even wandered all the way around the floor through a sea of crazed Aerosmith fans. The crowd was very much in "party mode" I haven't seen so much beer consumed in ages (not by me). I'd definitely catch him again. I guess I'll have to ask him, "Are you gonna go my way!"

I just saw Ricky Martin this week. His show was awesome!!! The crowd stood spontaneously from the very beginning & only sat for one slow song. The lighting was fabulous! He even had an anime' version of himself portrayed in lights. It's hard to describe in words, but I took photos & I'll post a link when I get them finished.

I am very much looking forward to hearing more news about Clay's next CD. I'm not sure what to make of the "all love songs" idea. I hope it is a mix of tempos, not all SLOWWWWW songs. He has such as knack for infusing songs with his special brand of energy. There isn't any rule that love songs have to be slow or old-fashioned, right?

Photo of the Day: (This is one of my all time favorites - he looks lost in the music)

Quote of the Day: "Opportunity often comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat." - Napoleon Hill

"An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision." - James McNeill Whistler

"Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you." - William James
