Car Shopping

01/06/06

Car shopping makes me nervous!

The last time I bought a car I got screwed. And it was brand new, not used. They switched the car on me. That was a new 1995 Nissan Altima. I don't trust car salesmen after that.

Now, I really need a new car. It took me weeks to muster the courage to step into another dealership. Well, this guy is different, so maybe there is an honest car salesman afterall. We'll see.

I went to check out the new 2006 Chevy Malibu. I loved it! V6, side curtain, ABS, traction control, power on etc, etc.

As soon as I got in to test drive the car, I instinctively wanted to play a Clay Aiken cd

The guy printed a sheet with all the options I wanted and showed me the price. I wanted to buy it then and there, but I was told by a friend that I'm supposed to negotiate. I don't know quite how to do that. When I buy something, I pay the price I see.

So I took home the info. That was yesterday. I want to go back today but I still don't know what to tell the guy. I mean how to you lower down the price?

Do you just come right out and say, Could you lower the price down by a thousand dollars?

How do you determine how much to lower the price down on a brand new car?

Well, if anyone has an idea I could really use some. I want to get my car by Monday. I'm so excited I can almost see me driving that car.

Cheers! ~WildCard
