2 months and counting!!
10/21/06Okay, I've had 9 weeks of school and 8 weeks of no blog from Clay. Is this a record?
I can't wait for all the other appearances that will be happening in November, especially the Tyra Banks show. It will be exciting to see how they will use Clay on Days Of Our Lives. I hope he will get his talk show in the future like he has been talking about.
I finally bought my first house and moved in at the end of September. It is kinda in the country. I saw 9 deer today, several squirrels, and a skunk the other night. I am further from my job, but I really like it out here. I'm still unpacking and setting up the house. Just got my internet and my cable hooked up. Sadly, my cable company does not carry the TVGuide Channel. I will have to download or go to my mom's to record the Up Close special on Clay next weekend.
My dad had a medical scare the same day as Clay's CD release date. I got home from the CD release party and went to bed. The next day around noon, I find out that my dad had a horrendous setback after his knee replacement surgery. He had vomited into his lungs during the night.
They put him in ICU for about 5 days to stabilize him and put him in a drug-induced sleep to help heal his lungs. It was scary and touch-and-go for a few days (he's 77). He also has a heart condition that they had to monitor as well. He came home about a week later. He is recovering much better after they finally got his meds right and has a physical therapist for his knee.
My class of students with varying disabilities is very challenging this year. I have several with Autism and they keep us on our toes every day. I've had to practically clear out my room of distractions to keep their behaviors in check. I have 3 more 9 week periods to go in the school year. I am thinking of going back to school to become a psychologist/counselor. Maybe getting my master's degree. It is a daunting task when I think about it.
I hope Clay will blog soon (oops! there's that word!). I want to hear some encouraging news about his future plans like the CD tour in the early Spring and any other things he may have on his plate.
Talk to you later! Godspeed, Clay God Bless the troops, especially Brett.
