Well, this is my first entry. I have never done a blog before. Didn't even know what it was until Clay's fan club.
I have learned so much about computers and downloading and the music industry since discovering Clay 3 years ago.
School is coming down to the wire. We have 11 days left of school. The kids all know it, too. I have 14 students with special needs. Most have Autism Spectrum disorder. I only have two aides and today it felt like we needed 14! Every single student practically needed one-on-one help today. I have 3 students who probably have similar behaviors to Mike Bubel. They act out, scream, and get out of their seat when they get frustrated. Sometimes I wish Clay could come to my classroom, observe, and give me some pointers. I am learning a little each day for the past two years on how to handle the varying degrees of Autism. It's challenging on some days, but other days, I feel like I've really accomplished something and it makes me feel so proud.
All the kids know about Clay. I even have a corner of the classroom with his pictures, calendar, and the Bubel/Aiken flyers/posters. We even made birthday cards for Clay back in November and sent them to him. I posted those on here back then.
It's also coming down to the wire on Clay's CD. I feel that we will find out something soon. The more I see some new tidbits, the more I get excited. I know it will be a great album and people who haven't seen or heard from Clay since American Idol will be amazed at how much he has changed-on the outside as well as the inside.
Well, I gotta go. My class is coming back from lunch any minute now.
Have a great rest of the school year to all you teachers and students out there.
Godspeed and God Bless!!
