I've been recently referred to the Austin Heart Hospital cardiologists for some tests. I've been having shortness of breath, some heart palpitations, and some small pains in the right side of my chest and back and was due for a stress test because of family history and diabetes. This past Friday, I went to see the PA at the clinic for preliminary tests-an EKG and screening for being a first time patient there. My EKG was abnormal and when he listened with his stethoscope, he heard something that wasn't right. The cardiologist came in and listened as well and he noticed the same thing. He said it could have something to do with my lungs (and I'm not a smoker). I had a chest x-ray done and am scheduled for a 3 to 4 hour stress test this Thursday. I also have a PFT procedure (if anyone knows what that entails, please let me know-I think it's a lung stress test?) scheduled the following Tuesday and an Echocardiogram scheduled in November. I have a follow-up appointment with the cardiologist in November after all the tests are done.
I also have an appointment with a surgeon to see what the lumps on the sides of my breasts near my underarms are. Nothing showed up in my mammogram. They sometimes are achy and may just be fatty tissue, but I'm nervous about that, too.
Keep me in your prayers as I go through the tests.
Thanks
