WHY? WHY? WHY??????
02/19/07I am completely put off by the discussion in the thread about Clay's recent appearance at the Greensboro Christian Music concert. What is going on? I don't understand how a simple little event like this, can ignite so much fighting? I have to use this emoticon again:
I truly want to pull my hair!!! The way it is commented about, one might think that this brief appearance on stage with Steven Curtis Chapman is a defining moment in Clay's Career. No, it isn't. There is no need to toss around conclusions and speculations that Clay will possibly swich to singing Christian songs. On the opposite spectrum - there is no need to express outrage and dismay at the very mention of Clay liking the Christian music. He does. So what? Thinking that the fact Clay went to SCC concert and sang ONE song with him means that Clay would change the direction of his career, doesn't make any sense! I am a Christian, and I like Clay singing this type of songs, but so what?
In the past, when Clay put on the Carolina Hurricanes Jersey, and ice skated on that rink - did anybody conclude that Clay wanted to become professional hockey player??? No. It was for fun, pure fun. He did it, because he COULD. Same here. Well, maybe it is more likely that Clay would record a Christian song, or even a whole album. But so what??? Why are some fans so terrified of this possibility? Didn't Elvis record Gospel albums? They were beautiful! Had he stopped being Elvis because of that?? On the other hand, why do some fans insist that going into CC style, is what Clay SHOULD do? Based on what?
I will stop this rant. I love this OFC to pieces, but sometimes I get too frustrated by the lack of common sense on the Board.
Was it a year ago, when we all played with cartoons, adding our own text to blank ones? Here is what I created, as a comment about fighting on OFC.
