Hello, everyone! How are you? Spring has come and gone, and summer is here. The kids are out of school and the vacations have started. Before we know it, the 4th of July will be rolling around. I wanted to send best wishes to all of you for a happy, restful, and relaxing summer!

SUMMER
Colour has exploded everywhere the eye can see;
Summer is smiling down on us wherever we may be.
Gentle breezes, refreshing rain, and the dancing sun take part
In giving earth the summer touch - tonic for the heart.
Joan Adams Burchell
SUMMERTIME
Calm, peaceful;
The warm summer breezes gently brushes past your cheek and shoulder;
Wrapping you in its summer magic, and you smile since it has been so long.
As you fall onto the cool green grass, you make a grass angel.
Laughing, smiling;
You lay your head on our friend’s lap as you take in the oh so indescribable sunset.
The realization of true happiness enters your head, as you enjoy the company of
summer and good friends.

MOM and CAROLINE
BTW, for those of you who did not know, Mom fell the other week and has another compression fracture in her back; that’s two in the last six and a half months. She’s now in rehab and is going through physical therapy again. Bless her heart! She’s been through so much. Mom is hanging in there and trying her best to recover, and so far, is keeping in pretty good spirits. She will celebrate her 82nd birthday on June 27th.
We also recently found out that Caroline, our sweet, little “fur kid” has degenerative mitral valve disease and an enlarged heart. Our Vet referred her to Virginia Tech’s Veterinary School of Medicine to see a cardiologist. She’s on medication now and will be monitored at home, as well as have follow-up visits to check her progress.
The entire staff was wonderful, caring, and friendly. When we came back to pick up Caroline, the senior veterinary student was carrying her around in a pink and white blanket. She said Caroline won the cutest pet award of the day, and the cardiologist said the song “Sweet Caroline” kept running through his head. Sure helped brighten our spirits.
Any prayers would be greatly appreciated, and thanks again to those of you who have sent your thoughts, well wishes, and prayers our way. Bless you!
Enjoy your summer and stay cool!
