Blog Entry

the past few months

10/30/06

Okay, I realize it's been a while since I've updated. Clay updates his blog more than I do. lol. However, I feel that a circumstancial amount of events have happened in my life since June 2nd. Starting with the rest of the summer: 1.) On June 10th, I turned 21. No, I didn't go out drinking. lol. I spent the day with my family and I admit I did have a little bit of a margarita, but it had too much alcohol in it for my taste, so I only had a sip before requesting a non-alcoholic one. I don't have much of a taste for alcohol, which is probably a good thing in all actuality. Um...what else did I do...I made my best friend cry by the gift I gave her for her birthday. It was a very personal thing between the two of us. (If you want to know more details, send me a message.) The next day, we went out to the Olive Garden and had some really good food--and then I accidentally left my purse outside the restaurant. Yeah, I'd lose my brain if it wasn't in my skull. lol. Luckily, thank God, someone turned it in and I got it back the same day. 2.) As far as day care, the rest of the summer went very well and I learned a lot about the kids and myself as far as things that need improvement and things I have more of a talent in than I origianally thought.Overall, the summer went very good. I survived a tornado ripping through my town, I dealt with some friends of mine deciding to disown me, and I dealt with a flood in my basement toward the end of the summer, but I think I'm only a stronger person because of it all. 3.) In September, I started my 4th year in college and my second year here at Whitewater. I most recently made it into the College of Education and will be starting my program this spring semester. Yea for working with kids! The only class I'm not extremely excited about it art and music methods...I've never been really good at art although I do have a lot of creativity and I'm not extremely sure about the music despite the fact that I love singing and music in general. But, I'll deal as always because the outcome is worth it. 4.) I've had some roommate problems the first couple months of school--starting off with her getting seriously drunk maybe the second week in school and throwing up all over her side of the room and her getting drunk many nights after that throughout the semester. This roommate of mine is a first semester freshman and is an unmedicated bipolar. It's been difficult to deal with all the mood swings, but it's made me, I think, a better person overall. She's now leaving me halfway through the semester to go live on the other side of campus with one of her friends, leaving me alone with my own room. It's making me terrified and excited all at the same time and if anyone has any advice for living alone, send me a message. It's been my number one fear for a long time now to be alone. Partly, I think, because I've shared a room with my sister ever since she was born a year and a half after me and I've been living with a roommate the last couple years. I desperatly need that "other person" in the room. Also coming from this is a need for a new tv for my room. She owned the tv, refridgerator, microwave, dry food storage bin...and all her stuff. So, as soon as the day she moves out rolls around, I'll be going out to buy a cheap tv to watch Clay on. Speaking of...I haven't said anything of his recent ordeal and, at this time, I choose not to. I've talked about it with my family and my sister and, if you want my personal opinion on everything, send me a message because I don't feel like including it in this blog. Anyway, this last weekend I went to see Switchfoot in concert in Milwaukee with my sister and had the time of my life. This upcoming weekend, I'll be at Fall Conference for IV learning more about the Bible and what God has to say about certain things. I'm very excited! The next weekend, I'll be going home to see my family again and see the musical my old high school is putting on this year--Beauty and the Beast. So...the last 4 and a half months has gone by so fast and I'm sure the time will pass quickly to the end of the semester. Talk to you all later!!!
