A couple of comments on assumptions.

1) "We ALL came for the voice and stayed for the man". Not so much. I came for the voice. Then I fell for what I thought was the man. Then I found out that he was not actually what I perceived him to be. Now I am back to just being here for the voice. Which is exquisite. And also for the hot sexiness; Clay is damn attractive. Or at least, he is when he does his hair and puts on some decent clothes. g

But it is a mistake to assume that every member of this board is here because they adore and admire the man. Many people like Clay for other reasons - such as his compelling concerts or his beautiful voice. Differences are what make the world go arround.

2) "We are ALL here to support Clay!" I have been thinking a lot about that one and have come to the conclusion that I am here to enjoy Clay, not to support him.

I did my time. I bought 15 copies of MOAM and voted like crazy for TRL and the AMAs. I wanted to buy him a chance in the music industry; that's all. I did that. Mission accomplished. Now, I just want to sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labor. I hope that Clay will make the most of the opportunities that his fans bought him. I'm not convinced that he will. But I am still holding on to that hope that he will live up to his potential and become the artist that I believe he can be. Right now it's a very unsettled question; it will depend on the next CD and probably the one after that. But I refuse to be thrilled with mediocrity from someone who could be so much more.
