Ramble #71
09/16/07Hey y'all!
I think it's time for a trip down "Memory Lane," don't you?

There are so many good pictures of Clay, it really is hard to choose!
I would hope that as Clay fans, we are all aware of the fact that The Bubel Aiken Foundation is working hard to raise $1,000,000 for it's "Let's All Play" camps. Clay won a tremendous amount of money on "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader" recently. (The show will not be aired until November)
There are also many other ways we can help to raise money. In fact our board just did a fundraiser called "Change for Change." We raised over $1,700! The admin at our board also started a BAF approved fundraiser called Charming4Inclusion
At the website www.charming4inclusion.com you can purchase pre-made Italian charm bracelets. There are also starter bracelets, key chains, individual charms, as well as the tool to help you take on and off the charms. New charms are going to be added soon as well.
I plan on buying a few of these as Christmas gifts. With each purchase a good amount of money goes right to TBAF, so not only can you give your mom and sister a gift, but you will also be giving TBAF a gift as well!
Speaking of Christmas...
It is only mid-September, but the holidays will soon be upon us. I was pleasantly reminded by Clay's beautiful songs from MCWL, which is in my iPod, so I just let it play.
MDYK is a timeless classic - it doesn't matter what time of year it is. It's just beautiful.
As I was writing down in my journal what would become this blog I was listening to DSIAFCD. That song just puts me over the top. It's an awesome song on it's own, but because Clay really enjoys singing these songs, you can hear it in his voice. DSIAFCD showcases Clay's voice more than any other song that I can think of. It makes me want to cheer! It's so uplifting. I am absolutely in love with this man's voice!
Then there is MCWL - oh my gosh! This song caused many a tear to fall last year. I was missing a friend and in not such a good space in my life.
Coincidentally, that same friend may be gone again this year at Christmas time. She has already gone from the OFC and MySpace. I don't look forward to her move because she has decided to give up her computer once she makes her move. That saddens me greatly. But the choice is hers. What can I do? I wish her all the best and will certainly pray for her in this new chapter of her life.
But back to DSIAFCD...
I don't think there is another song that affects me the way that one does. Broken Wings comes close, but that is more of a, well, let's say, an out of body, trance inducing song. The former is thought provoking and make you want to go conquer the world. Not to mention The Glory Note. It literally sends a shock, no, a burst of energy and love right through you.
My friend, MNClayFan is going to see Clay on December 20. I am so hoping to do a cellcert - or at least get to hear that song live again. Last year I did a cellcert with SMSPED. It was fantastic! I would love to do it again.
Whew! That was a long ramble about a Christmas song.
I don't know about you, but all this blogging is making me hungry! It's early morning - How about a great easy breakfast recipe to start the day?
Cali's Breakfast Special
You will need:
1 bag of tater tots (1 pound) 1 pound of bacon 1 dozen eggs Shredded cheese (as much as you like) Chopped onion or green onion (as much as you like) Salt and Pepper
- Bake the tater tots (using the directions on the package) in a 9 x 13 baking dish (use a nonstick cooking spray or nonstick baking dish)
- While tater tots are baking, chop the bacon and fry it.
- In a bowl, scramble the eggs.
When the tater tots are done, take the pan out, but leave the tots in there. Pour the scrambled eggs over the top. Sprinkle with the bacon, onion, cheese, salt and pepper. Place back into the oven at 350 and bake until the egg is set.
Serve with fresh fruit.
I like to put fresh salsa on mine, but y'all can do what ever you like with it! The recipe is kinda big, but we have a family of 5 at home, so it works out pretty good. There is usually a little left over.
Have a wonderful day, Everyone!
