Changing the Musical Landscape

06/11/06

I posted this at CV but I would love to hear anyone else's comments:

As I was walking into the Village today, listening to Clay on my beautiful Ipod, I was thinking about Calliek's friend who said something to the effect that Clay's album would "change the landscape of music" or words to that effect. When that was posted a lot of people referred to it as hyperbole and "over the top". I sort of agreed but loved reading it and wondered what he meant.

I still have no idea but it made me think of Jerry Lee Louis and Elvis who revolutionized the music of their day and then the British Invasion of the Beattles and The Rolling Stones et al, who did the same in the 60's and suddenly it didn't seem such a far-fetched idea. I feel, and I think it's safe to assume all or most of us feel that Clay has the "Voice of the Generation" or however you want to categorize it, he has something "special" that has captivated us. Perhaps this fellow has heard something - some new and different "Sound" that is so different and amazing that he was moved to make that prediction.

I just can't wait to hear it. All the secrecy is for a reason - we now know the new "look" - but there must be something more.

I see nothing but enormous success in Clay's future. Though he blew everyone away with the new "look", friends of mine were just as blown away by his voice, his confidence and his warmth and kindness to Micheal Sandecki.

The more I think about the secrecy and planning that is going into this CD's launch, the more excited I become.

I want success for him almost as much as he does and I have a feeling that this album is going to put him into the stratosphere of recognition and well on his way to becoming a "Legend".
