All this talk of vacations is making me jealous. I would love to get away. I have a chance to head to Guatemala, but unfortunately it's not going to work out. My best friend is there with her new (almost) adopted son; just the cutest kid I've ever seen, and slowly but surely they are getting thru all the paperwork necessary to complete the adoption and bring him home. She has been there since December (see previous entries) and is very anxious to head home. She would love for me to come and help them come home. The problem is that she isn't sure when exactly she'll be able to leave with Noah. It could be early April; maybe late April and it's difficult; and very expensive, to make flight arrangement when you won't know until the last minute that you can now go. I will probably have to wait until this summer to go and visit her (she's in Maryland) and her newest family member. I really feel like I'm letting her down; plus it would certainly be a great opportunity to go somewhere I will never have a chance to see again. Selfishly it would be great to go just to get away from work for a while. Sometimes leaving for a week or so and then coming back makes me not feel so "confined" in my job. I actually come back liking it a bit more; reinvigorated and inspired to do new projects. Well, maybe the travels I take this summer; even though they won't be "exciting" or tropical will have to be enough. Auntie Karen is looking forward to seeing my new little "nephew" and also seeing where Clay and Company has me visiting. I love me some State Fairs, LOL. Here's hoping that we all have a safe and fun weekend.
