My Angels!
06/07/07Seriously! Is there ANYTHING you people can NOT do? I think there has only been one other time in history when a network gave in and BROUGHT back a TV show from the dead after they had canceled it. You folks are seriously UNBELIEVABLE! Wow.
Since the message boards are shut down, I will try my best (oh no.. hope that isn't a committment) to blog as often as possible while they are down to give ya'll something to read.
I have spent the last week in Paris (as you know from the lost passport story). It's really a beautiful city. I had never really wanted to go to Paris, because I assumed it was overrated. But, I must say, the entire city does look like a museum. It really is quite spectacular. It was very nice to be in a place where no one knows me. I had a very funny out of body experience outside my hotel on the third day i was in town. As I left the hotel I noticed a swarm of photographers and autograph seekers hanging around the front door. My first, instinctive reaction was anxiety. But, I remembered that no one in Paris knows who I am, so they couldn't be waiting for me! I walked outside and stood across the street to watch as a very famous American movie actress got out of her car and was chased by photographers and videographers. It was quite surreal to see it all happen. I went back in the hotel and spoke to her (we had met during a promo tour for ATDW last year) and told how interesting it was to watch all of that happen. Then I told her I was going to go walk around the city on my own, completely unnoticed!! She was jealous! Sometimes, the quiet of anonymity can be nice! But it will be nice to be back in the states! Jesse, Angela, and Quiana (and a new drummer for you all to meet) and I begin rehearsing for the summer run in a week or so. It will be nice to get back out on the road and see you all again. I really LOVE these orchestra shows. In addition to being much easier on all of us, they really are musically spectacular. Jesse has done arrangements for some songs that I have never sung before, and of course we will be giving many of the songs from ATDW a shot with the full symphonic sound that they deserve. It's tough to do a show full of orchestral songs and still find a way to slip in a few up tempo diddies for you. But, I think we have come up with a few really neat ideas. If you love them, you're welcome! :) If you don't, they were Quiana's idea! ;) As far as the album goes, Jaymes and I are getting quite close to finding that perfect producer to do the entire album. Clive and the label have been very generous in their support and I think we are going to be able to do something really fresh and yet not too strange for me. We wanna try to grow some, but still stay true to great songs and great meodies. So, i am getting excited about that. Will probably a ways off, but we'll keep you updated. Other than that, Jaymes informed me today, that my passport was found in Calgary! So, I get to keep all of my cool stamps from Afghanistan, Uganda, Croatia, Slovenia, etc. I was so upset to have a blank passport and no fun stamps to show off. I won't get to use it anymore, but at least i'll have them. And how many people have an Afghan visa!!!?
Well.. off I go. What will you all do with all of this free time now that the message boards are down and Jericho is back on?!?!?!?
Maybe you can talk CBS in to giving me my own show!!! ;)
Love you
