Quiana IS Effie!

Well… as I prepare to return to my temporary “home” in NYC and get ready to have my butt kicked all over the floor for the impending D-Day on Friday, I can’t help but keep shaking my head over how AMAZING Quiana was last night in Dreamgirls at North Carolina Theatre. The great folks at Spamalot gave me the weekend off so I culd fly back home and see Q sing her BUTT OFF (and act it off too) as the lead in this production. It was nice to see some of you all there last night as well. I’m so thankful that you have been so supportive of her in this endeavor too. It’s funny. When I was spending my last week in Raleigh before moving up to NYC, Quiana was in rehearsals and coming hme at night so tired and going straight to bed. I complained at the time that she was exaggerating. She COULDN’T be THAT tired. But, lo… when I got up to NYC and started my rehearsals, I had to call her back and apologize, because i COMPLETELY understood what she was going through. The difference… sometime this past week she said everything she had been learning “just clicked” all of the sudden. (I’m still waiting for that moment for me… let’s hope it happens before Friday!) Regardless of WHEN it clicked for Quiana… it ABSOLUTELY did. She OWNS that show. While you’re waiting for me to get my act together…. if you live ANYWHERE near Raleigh…. or even if you don’t…. GET THEE TO NC to see our girl in Dreamgirls. It will change your life!! ;)

Her show runs just one more week and closes on the 20th…. by then, I hope to have my self in gear… and then you can come us u in Spamalot!
