01/17/08So… They only let you choose one… and as excited as I am.. I am SOOO much more EHAUSTED. So ‘sleepy’ is the mood!
I have had such an AMAZING time working with some of the greatest and most talented people I have ever met. It’s really unbelievable how patient these foks have been with me. I used to tell my mom that I could never teach music. As much as I love teaching AND music. If I had to teach music to some children who couldn’t understand on “get” it, I would go crazy. I have NO idea how some of these folks have put up with me. Scott Taylor, the dance supervisor who must have drawn the short straw, has been charged with teaching me a ll of the moves for this entire show. he has the PATIENCE of Job. I have no idea why he hasn’t killed me yet!!! So… today we did our first full run-thru and I am still in one piece. ( I wish I could say the same for Eric Idle’s script and songs!)
On the cusp of our first performance… a few words of request from little ol’ me….
1) NO CAMERAS… Of ANY kind. I know this is different from what we usually do… But this is not my show. If it were I would have no problem. But, Spamalot is the product of SOOO much work by so many people who were here before me and will be here long after me. I know I am “preaching to the choir”... but you guys are such great messengers…. please tell your friends and those you know that the rule is NO CAMERAS of ANY kind. I can’t even put in to words how embarrassed I would be if pictures or video of the show turned up on the internet or anywhere. Let’s all be respectful of all the amazing people who make this show possible!!
To that end… there are SOOO many folks who make this show so great on stage. As WONDERFUL as I may be,…. ;-) if you watch just me… you’ll miss out on so much that is great and funny about Spamalot.
Lastly… be gentle! ;-) HA HA. I am gonna mess up. And I am gonna mess up PLENTY! Just think… in concert I mess up songs that I have sung for YEARS> God help me on stuff I have only learned for a week!!!! Be forgiving!
I am looking forward to seeing so many of you over the next several months. It is going to be fun!
For those of you who won’t be able to make it. In celebration and commermoration of this exciting occasion.. . we have a “gift” for everyone!!! In the next few days, you will see an ALL NEW clayonline.com! New designs! New ways to connect with each other! New ways to communicate with us! We are very excited about it all. So, by all means… enjoy!!! (just don’t share videos and pictures of Spamalot…. Not that there would be any!! ;-) )
See you tomorrow night!
Find your Grail!!
