Exciting News!

08/30/06

We are getting so close to the release of ATDW and it is truly an exciting time. In the next couple weeks I anticipate a beautiful end point to this long wait. This baby is ready to be born!

I'm a bit nervous about the OFC renewal, since we haven't heard details yet. If we have to renew the first day, I'm in trouble. I don't have the ability to pay online and have to get funds together to send in a money order. I do hope they give us a time frame... such as two weeks, whatever.

Other Exciting News

My oldest son has been married for 7 years and has always claimed he wasn't sure about having children, didn't think his wife was ready, now says they may be ready! Yippeee!!

My darling daughter, stuck in that middle child place, turned 25 this week and is engaged to a terrific fellow that any M-I-L would be thrilled to join the family. It is just so nice to see your children grow up, mature, make good decisions for themselves and be happy.

Now, the MOST exciting news in my life right now... I posted this last week at my home board (Clayversity) but never made it here to my blog. I'll add it now.

Exciting News

My youngest son (21 yrs old) had his follow-up MRI yesterday and met with the medical team. After the chemotherapy the docs have declared that this "enormous brain tumor larger than a large egg has melted away to the size of a pea" and he is doing "fabulously".

They are going to wait to start the radiation therapy until after Labor Day, then it will be the 5days/week for a month grind of radiation therapy.

We are just thrilled and he sounds so much more hopeful. I am just amazed that the chemo could be so specific to destroy the tumor cells without destroying the white cells. There were a couple scares, but mostly he really did well the past few months. The docs still keep saying "You really should be dead"... he says, "Thanks, that's what I want to hear". But really, his attitude has been great.

Thank you to all of you who have prayed for him and offered support here. I know the journey is not over, but it feels like a healing one right now.
