Montage: Trouble by cate

I just had to do this one in light of the Elvis medley in the JBT and …well… you’ll see for yourself. g

First of all, she chooses an Elvis song from one of his movies. cate illustrates the words with various clips of Clay in action. The whole montage is lighthearted throughout and makes me grin from ear to ear.

Special effects are used extremely well in this montage: in two sections, as the song lists why the singer is ‘trouble’, cate uses the flip transition to move from one “bad thing” to another… it works great with the music.
Splitting the clip and fading to white makes the flash sequence at :27-:32 with some Miami grindage.
At :50-:51 she uses the ‘shatter in’ effect with the air punch from SNL. This effect is so cool because montage makers tend to use it very sparingly… so when it is used, it really catches your eye.
And at 1:36, the drum rimshots in the song segue into a cool sequence where she uses either sliding up or sliding down to move from image to image.

Although it’s short due to the song length, it doesn’t matter at all, as you can feel cate’s affection for Mr. Aiken all the way through.
