I'm happy to report that I survived the marathon Sunday! I felt good most of the way until all the aches and pains forced me to walk the last couple miles. That's okay though because I still made it to the finish line and that's all that mattered to me in the end. I'm now setting some new running goals for next year and I'm pretty excited about where they will take me!

I was thinking back about the race and for once I was surprised that I didn't have songs running through my head for those hours. Typically a couple songs repeat over and over just because the running cadence feels like the beat of a song. Every so often some of the spectators would have music (like Rocky's theme) playing to charge us up which really helped. Before the race I would take songs like ISY and make up new words for it to match what I was feeling. There must have been enough other activities around me to keep my mind from wandering this time.

Not much else is new. Got my JNT tickets and I'm looking forward to vacation in a few weeks. I guess I'll start working on my spanish lessons again tomorrow!
