Clayversity

09/05/06

1000 posts just in time for A Thousand Different Ways. I have been trying to think of a way to tie them together but I can’t think of anything profound so I can only say that I am sure there are a thousand different things I enjoy about Clayversity.

I have told this story before so feel free to scroll. When I joined January 7, 2005, little did I know what a wonderful part of my life this Board would be . I lurked for several months before I posted and when I did I was so nervous that I hesitated a while before I hit "add reply". Someone had asked what kind of watch Clay wears and I knew the answer as I had noticed it when I saw him in the Grand Forks Target the day before the first concert of the NaT. This is my first post—short and to the point.

QUOTE The watch that Clay now wears is a Movado with a blue face with one diamond and a steel band. I saw it up close when he was shopping in the Grand Forks Target store last summer. END Quote

It was so amusing as the discussion went on for pages (it must have been a slow night) with so many people asking me questions both on the Board and by PM. Matt posted pictures from the Morvado web site so I could identify the exact watch. I had a great time and realized that I should get involved in more discussions. I still don't post a lot but I am not nervous now as I feel I am among friends and my ohuna. As I’ve said before Leroy was the first person to welcome me here followed quickly by Queensmum and I remember thinking --wow, people in different areas of the U.S. are reading my post.

I love the fact that we can have thoughtful, insightful and most importantly respectful discussions here about everything from Clay to liver.

One of my highlights was meeting Leroy, rcknrllmom, Champion, Clayla, Lindspe and fellow Canadian Christel in Minneapolis. It was so nice to put faces to names and what a great night that was.

I am still amazed that we can listen to a concert hundreds of miles away live and usually within less than two hours after the end of a concert we have video. I can't imagine how many hours Hockeydonna, dancermom and others put in to get everything up and running. The commitment by caperkeeper doing the stream every night was also huge.

These are wonderful times and the growth of Clay and Clayversity is truly mind boggling. We are now embarking on great times in the Clay world with the CD release, promotion and hopefully tours and it will be so great to share it with everyone here at Clayversity. Leroy maybe he will even come to Boondockville, ND.
