ANOTHER LABOR DAY!
09/05/09It has been a long summer and yet Labor Day is suddenly here.
Every year, we have something new to talk and think about. So far, it is the amazing video that was shown for MDA in OMAHA dedicated to an amazing young lady who lost her difficult life to the new flu that hit so many this year. She was a fighter and she shared a deep affection for one who lived in her heart with love and obviously was reciprocated by Clay. A story very well done.
I always watched MDA especially since I still cannot reach Comedian Cosby to tell him how long ago his buddy (my husband ) passed away. Yes, for those who do not know, my husband died on Labor Day in 1986.
Since I worked two days after the funeral to have his work finished properly for two years, then immediately worked as a consultant to two photographers after closing the studio and the work area, for many more years. I was just 60 then and filled with energy. I LOVED working even if it became 82 hours a week - it helped me not dwell on the loss of my best friend.
So, here we are, another Labor Day. Another MDA telethon. The world goes on even though during all of these now 24 years there have been so many changes in all of our lives. The World continues, babies are born and loved ones meet their MAKER.
We are each touched by loving stories like the Video shown from Ohama, and each of us have our own personal thoughts during this long holiday. Memories of the long weekend at our beloved N.H. Lake, or before that just picnics near famous Walden Pond.
I am sure you each have wonderful memories and probably will continue to do so for many years to come. Many have new beginnings. Here at OFC, we look forward to Clay's career at Decca with joy in our hearts for the man who has helped so many without even knowing it.
Yes, I remember this day and as time goes on, not with sadness, but with joyful memories of the good times we had. I am so glad I have that ability to do so.
ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY!
Love and Hugs to all of my wonderful internet friends, Marian
