Legally Blonde the muscical has a new "Elle Woods". Her name is "Bailey Hanks",from Anderson,SC. Back in April after I returned from my NY trip, I was telling a coworker about my trip when he told me his preachers daughter was trying out for Elle Woods.

I was at work one day and Officer M. was assigned as my partner. I had just returned from NYC and some of my other coworkers were asking me about my trip. I told Officer M. I had just been to see ClayAiken in Spamalot and Laura Osnes and Max Crum in Grease. As we were discussing broadway plays and I was telling him about me and my friend watching the t.v. show "Grease your the one that I want" where they were casting Danny and Sandy and voting on them,he told me his preachers daughter was auditioning for the part of "Elle Woods" in Legally Blonde the Musical

He said it was suppose to be on tv.

About a week later officer M. told me he was at church and they said that the girl had to pack to go to New York for the Audition,and they were not allowed to bring anything but clothes. All money,food and lodging would me provided. At the time of this discussion I thought he told me her name was Hailey Hinson. Now either I need to get my hearing checked or I just didn't understand his really strong southern accent.lol

The show which finally aired on MTV entiled "legally blonde" the search for "Elle Woods" was on ,on Monday nights at 10:00p.m. When I watched the first episode I realized her name was "Bailey" and not "Hailey".

I kept in touch with Officer M. at work since we don't work the same post much,or he would update me on her progress out in the parking lot. One day he told me that the show had been filmed and she new who won but couldn't say anything until the final episode aired. They have to sign a waiver with a huge fine if word gets out. A few weeks later he told me the preachers family was going to be out of town because they were moving Bailey to New York. He says I think she won. Why else would you suddenly move someone to new york. The time the show" Legally blonde the musical the search for "Elle Woods"was suppose to air got pushed back for I guess scheduling reasons. The last episode aired about a week or so ago and She was the winner. Because the show aired so late and I had to be up for work at 4:00A.M. the next morning I had to wait to find out the actual outcome on Inside Edition the next day,even though I was pretty sure what happened. This is when I realized her last name was "Hanks" and not HInson. lol Officer M. talked to me briefly that morning at work and said:"Did you see where she one?" I told him yes!

Officer M. called me later and told me that a little theater in Anderson where she used to perform had set up a satelite on the roof for people to come there and watch the MTV episodes of the audition show. He said he and his wife went there for the finale. A storm had blown through the area and knocked the satellite off the roof right before the show was to air. They got it fixed in time for the start of the show then another storm came through and knocked it out again,so they didnt get to see the whole finale either.

Inside Edition did a second piece on her after her debut on Broadway! The house was sold out and she is a hit! I told officer M. If I could afford to go to New York again I would go see her.,but its just not possible right now. He said he and his wife would like to go and that he had looked into ticket prices. They have a new baby so he said he doesnt think it will be possible for them either, but we are here cheering her on and wishing her the best!
