My busy summer.

09/04/09

This summer has been quite the busy one for me. It started back at the end of May,before the official calender start of summer. My niece Jerica graduated from High School. I traveled to Ohio to attend the ceremony, while there my mother and I went through all the old photo albums and pictures from the past 18 yrs of her life to make a poster board for her party. Whew! that was a lot of work!

After this event I started planning my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I had this artistic vision to find pictures of the two of them together for everyyear of the past 50 years and put them in a slide show DVD put to music. This required going through 50 years of photo albums and selecting the right pictures. More hard work for me!I worked on this project all summer. During the month of July I took a break from the DVD project and attended OSU"s BSU reunion. I saw people I hadn't seen in 20 yrs. and did a lot of reminiscing and picture sharing from our college days.

After I returned from the college reunion I continued my work on the DVD for the 50th Anniversary Party. All summer I scanned Pictures and added pictures to the slide show. The program that came with our computer is cybrerlink,so I thought it would do what I wanted. I was able to do just a continuous slide show fine. My problem was I could only add one song! That was not what I wanted! Oh! how frustrating#! I then visited a couple of stores that carry slide show software. They couldn't tell me if the programs would do what I wanted ,but did recommend I try to group all the songs in one file and apply them that way. IDONT KNOW HOW TO DO THAT. I finally came up with an alternative. I could divide the slide show into 3 sections and post one song per section. I had to burn the DVD twice to get it right. I now have the greatest appreciation for all of you that make videos and slide shows for youtube, fanclubs and the net in general. YOU ARE MY HEROES! Bless you all!

  • 50th Anniversary party. The summers now over and Im almost back to normal. I have popped in to the internet here and there throughout the summer to check email messages and read the news on my myspace and Clayonline sites. For my OFC friends, I have caught the news of Bubel/Aiken changing its name to National Inclusion Project and Clay signing with Universal Musics Decca records. I've also been able to quicklly pop into the message board and read some of his answers to the questions posted there. Lately that sighting section has been wonderful! I love the latest pics. Here are a couple I checked out.
