UGH!

I swear that this university is out to get me! Most people envision their first year at a university to be this liberating and enriching experience; it is sooooo not like that at Holy Names University!!! The only thing I like about this university are my classes. At least it gives me a chance to escape.

I was hesitant about going to a super religious conservative college, but I decided to give it a go. I am a product of private conservative schools from grades k-12, so I decided it wouldn’t be as bad. Needless to say, I was so very wrong. One thing I truly hate is being surrounded by super conservative people (no offense to anyone here). I am a liberal with very liberal views, so I don’t like it when people shove the bible in my face as the “official rule book”, or whatnot. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Christian, but I believe that the bible is not to be taken literally. So that was just one issue, no big deal right? Because I’ll just play the reap havoc with my liberal views game like I did in high school.

Fast forward to this week. I was out of school all last week due to an illness. When I get back to school this Tuesday, I get word that I am getting a roommate. My reaction was one very similar to a rabid dog. Not once did they give me any heads up, or even ask me if I wanted a roommate. No, I don’t want a roommate! I would rather be by myself. You all saw the awesome pictures of my room a few blogs ago. I had it all to myself, I had established my own studying and sleeping habits. So what do these geniuses at Holy Names University do??? They give me a roommate with the opposite study and sleep habits as mine. So much for compatibility insert sarcasm here. So I marched myself to the head of residence life to tell them that I thought my life was being violated and out of the 2 phones and 2 college email accounts they gave me, that I check regularly, they NEVER once contacted me!!!!! Or at least attempted to! So the head of Residence life didn’t really give a rats you-know-what about my situation. I swear, if I could put this on myspace I would, but there are people on there that actually like this school.

UGH! I’ve got to go to class. 3 weeks till spring break and 10 weeks till this garbage is OVER!
