could-be legend?
09/28/06This is a short part out of an AIM conversation I had this evening between a friend and I. I've tried to clean it up as much as possible (edited typing, faces, etc.) to make it clearer.
Me: Ever think [Clay will] get legendary status? Her: I hope so... Me: It would be nice but I think RCA would have to shell out some major bucks for better [produced] cds [including material], better promo, airplay, etc... I think he could. Her: I think if Clay actually had airplay he would be a lot more popular Me: Yeah. They don't wanna fork over the payola to get him the spins. Her: Nope. Me: I think the label has pigeonholed us as... because we follow so closely to him and we're so loyal, devoted and "enthusiastic" they don't need to do that because they'll get sales no matter what. Her: Yeah... Me: They don't get the potential I think.... I pray to God that once his RCA contract is up he goes and signs with David Foster... Look what they freaking got! Sheer brilliance and genious! [referring to LAA] RCA is mad. Her: I knowww! He better switch. Me: 143 records... crosses fingers Me: I think [I've heard] he's bound to them for 7 cds... Her: Ahhh! Me: Yeah, that's what I say.
If I have that contract period wrong, could someone please let me know what it really is? Thanks. :)
