...the board that is! LOL!

I've just been popping in to check on the Mediabase stats and to see if there's any more news about Clay. I'm so proud of his work in Somalia. I didn't see his piece on CNN - I was flipping back and fourth between that and the Phillies game. I'm disappointed that he wasn't a part of the panel or there was a little something more for him. His name was included in the list of people appearing on the show and it didn't really give the impression that Lucy Liu would be on the whole night, etc. It seemed like equal billing. Anyway, kudos to all of them and their work for those in the Third World countries.

Not much else happening here. I'm waiting for my new niece/nephew to be born via C-section on July 29 (unless he or she has other ideas). My sister in law has been out of work for two weeks now and she is BIG!! I can't wait to see my nephew Mason's reaction and interaction with him or her as they grow older.

My birthday is next Thursday and I'm taking that day and Friday off for a long weekend. I'm going to hit the casinos on my birthday with my Mom and do some shopping at the outlets. It's funny how I work there and I haven't been to the outlets or gambled there in about 2 years. Yep, Barb, this Cancer will be 46. Where did the time go???

I miss Clay. We've had dry spells before but this one started on a bad note. We knew he was going on vacation after promoting his cd, but the fur flew with the rumors and that was it. Now that the initial discussion (or non-discussion) has passed, I guess that the one thing tat bugs me is that we are at a turning point. Clay did share AN AWFUL LOT about him over the years and I know that I was spoiled by it. If it made it into the rags well the Clay fans would rip them a new..... and that was acceptable to a point with Clay. Now, the door is shut and I believe locked permanently. He chooses not to respond to rubbish or rumors - "don't feed the trolls" as we say on my weather website. I have a very scary feeling that we will not have the same close knit interaction with Clay like we've had in the past. If he talks to his fans, it's fair game for the rags. We're on to a new chapter folks - we're not in Kansas anymore and there's no hot air balloon or ruby slippers to bring him and us back to that place. I miss Clay.

With that, I'm still hanging out, though not as often or as long. I can only read so many "When is he going to blog again" threads. I can only face the frustration of his music not getting the play it deserves from the bigger markets AGAIN, so much. I hate to be a downer but while the first have of the year was brimming with Spamalot and the new album, the second half of the year will not even be a half full cup, IMHO anyway.
