02/16/06Not too crazy about love songs Never been into that kinda stuff... no This one’s got me conflicted Feel like I’m addicted This sadness self inflicted I just can’t get enough
Scene: Clay Aiken sitting at a table trying to write a love song, frustrated, he crumples up the paper, gets up walks the floor... looks out the window ...concert arena marquee with Clay’s name on it ( can only see “just” his name here) in the distance. while singing first verse:
Now it’s taking on a whole new meaning This time the story cuts a little too close to home 'Cause… this song is all about us How could they know about us What happened was just between us Now the whole world knows 'Cause it’s all over the radio
For this part scene jumps to backstage getting ready for a concert. Clay is reading the newspaper shocked! Keeps looking at the dressing room door and fretting...and on the last line "'cause it's all over the radio" sweeps the radio that is on his dressing table onto the floor or picks it up and throws it! this could repeat (like a reverberation) before leading into the next scene.
Cuts me deep with every word Saddest song I've ever heard I can't help myself I keep coming back for more Drowning in the melody Makes me feel like I can't breathe I can't save myself The only time I'm close to you is when I hear a song I'm addicted to So I keep coming back for more
Here scene cuts to Clay on stage in concert FILLED with people and when Clay gets to the line where he says "keeps coming back for more" video has a few consecutive shots of Clay running up the concert stage stairs. Then when songs says "The only time when I'm close to you" Clay makes a sweeping motion indicating the fans in the audience.
Somebody’s makin’ a fortune Selling emotions to fools like me... who Relate to what their sayin’ Obsessed and can’t stop playing No use in changing stations... no Cause it’s everywhere on the radio, the radio, the radio
Here scene shifts to the behind the box office where owners are counting their HOARDS of money and laughing hysterically.... maybe with a huge calendar in the backgroune with dates of bands in each block and they have Clay listed every 2nd or 3rd block/day....hahahaha.
Cuts me deep with every word Saddest song I’ve ever heard Try and shut it out Keeps coming back for more Drowning in the melody Makes me feel like I can’t breathe I can’t save myself The only time I’m close to you is when I hear a song I’m addicted to So I keep coming back for mooooorrrre I keep coming back for more Hits me harder every tiiiiime Just notes and chords and words that rhyme
Here: Cut back to the concert scene where the crowd is doing the arm pump like they did in concert. Maybe Clay beckons a cute young girl to come up on stage (An "older" fan could point to herself and mouth "who me" and Clay could wiggle his finger no and point to the girl behind her and young girl could go up on stage for a hug. (probably in sync with the "so I keep coming back for more" part meaning more hugs and love from his fans)
Not too crazy 'bout love songs' This time the story cuts a little too close to home 'cause it's all over the radio, the radio, the radio… Cuts me deep with every word Saddest song I’ve ever heard I can’t help myself I keep coming back for more Drowning in the melody Makes me feel like I can’t breathe I can’t save myself The only time I’m close to you is when I hear a song I’m addicted to So I keep coming back for more
Clay is back on stage looking out over the crowd and looking kind of down about being "not too crazy 'bout love songs" ... but that mood quickly changes to MAD and not gonna take it any more attitude and after radio,radio,radio.... Clay throws down the mike stand (yes, yes, yes, and this provokes total fangirliness ... from the crowd over the throw-down... maybe a shot of a swoon or two) And then when the "makes me feel like I can't breathe part" Clay tugs hard on his tie. And at the end for "so, I keep coming back for more....cuts back to first scene of Clay at the table trying to write a love song and zeros in on the marquee he is staring at out the window and that same shot pans out past just his name to show CLAY AIKEN IN CONCERT "SOLD OUT" sign
