RED BANK

The drive to Red Bank was not too bad. We arrived at our hotel in good time and then later checked out the Count Basie Theatre. My sister and I found it and even found Clay's bus at the side of the theatre. We bumped into Jerome. He looked tired. Didn't see Clay. He did mention that Clay was all right.

Later that evening, we got to see Clay perform at Count Basie. We had excellent seats - 3rd row on the right side facing the stage. FromClaygary was sitting behind us and sashntash was sitting right in front of us. Cameras and videos were allowed that night as long as no flash was used. I was on a roll! Clay seem to hang on the right and centre stage more. When he came to the rightside, he would stand there and you would be wathcing and listening to him sing as if he's just singing to you. Sigh! I took a lot of pictures that night! He kept looking directly at my camera! THUD! What was the most thrilling part was during "Sleigh Ride". He pointed at my sister and I when he looked out to the audience to find someone to take a "Sleigh Ride...together with YOU!" Watch for that moment on clayheaven's Sleigh Ride.

Later that evening, during the banter, Clay teased about the Claymates going to more than one concert. "Who's gone to more than 1 concert?" Hands go up. clayheaven's hand went up; so did mine. "Who's gone to more than 5 concerts this tour?" At that point, we had only been to 4. Then he asked, "Who's going to Jacksonville?" Not many people put up their hands but we squealed when we raised our hands up and he looked over at us with a funny face. LOL

Clay sang and bantered that night but I guess he got tired towards the end as he didn't do the encore "All is Well." For some people, it was their last concert and there was tearful goodbyes as we hugged. That night, it was the last night for most of the Clay fans like NYMom4Clay, Claydorkable, Shycon, sashntash, Sue4AllYouDo, and clayniac2. I hope to see all of you soon at the next ATDW tour!!
