About ClayNation
Howdy!
Thanks for clicking on my profile! Please feel welcome to pop in on my blog as well! I'm totally brand-spanking-new at blogging - as of 2/1/07 - so bear with me as I learn the ropes!
A little about me...
I'm thirty-something, happily married with two young kids (DD 5yo and DS 10mos). My family rocks :) I love them so much. You'll hear little snippets about them in my blogs.
My family is diverse ethnically, which makes for colorful experiences and adventures at the dinner table and between three continents: the U.S., S.E. Asia, and E. Europe (yes, I'm being intentionally vague :)). Our family is likely to relocate to E. Europe within the next couple of years.
I've been a fan of Clay The Man Aiken since January 2003, the day his Atlanta audition appeared on AI2 and "Take time to tell me..." came out of his mouth. I immediately searched the web for any demos or background on him. I decided very early to support him and his career on the internet by means of founding the online fansite and community, ClaytonAiken.com and The Clayboard in February 2003 and then joining the mod staff here at the OFCMB in April 2005.
By the way, I have recently stepped down from my staff positions at the MBs, so if you need any assistance, please contact one of the listed mods within each forum. I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out!
Since the birth of our second child in the spring of 2006, my family has become front and center. I stepped back from my admin and mod positions on the boards and am now, for the first time in four years, enjoying Clay Aiken fandom in kicked-back and relaxed mode. Let me tell you, it's awesome!
A couple personal Clay World highlights were when Clay used my phone during the cellcert part of the Independent Tour concert in 2004 and when I finally got to meet The Man during the Jukebox Tour in the summer of 2005. Precious. Thank you, Clay.
Finally, I'm a (quite flawed) Christian who hopes to share God's love with those who are seeking him. There is great relief to find forgiveness, grace, and peace in a loving and faithful God and I hope that others can discover this too.
blessings always, cn

11/30/07 9 CommentsHappy Birthday, Mr. A :) - Blog #12
First off, Happy Birthday, Clay! I hope your day has been wonderful and you'll continue to celebrate on through the week and the holiday season. May blessings continue to abound in your life!
On this end - Oh my word. I can't believe four months have passed since my last blog! EEK! It has been soooo crazy busy at work, so much so that I've decided to go back to looking for part-time. When I first got this job back in May, I had actually been looking for part time, but the need was there and I was available, so I thought I'd give it a shot. However, some things are for a season and just like the natural seasons, they pass. I'm so glad though for the experiences I've had and the new friendships made there. What a huge blessing it's been. So, I'll be staying on for another month, until the end of December, and we'll see where things go. I'm not worried. It's all in the Lord's very able hands to provide our needs. Thankfully, my boss (who is a pastor) and my closest co-workers/friends have given me their blessings and support.
Oh, and also, the book I had been working on as the editor, it's done! It was printed and in our hands at the beginning of October. That was a huge project for me and another major time consumer, but well worth it.
On the family front, "Babes" is 6 now and growing up fast! She's such a little lady. She is an artist who has probably drawn over 2,000 pictures by now, no exaggeration! She also puts together comic books with her own created super-heros. "Buddy" is a year and a half now, talking a ton! He can echo everything. My current favorite expression of his is "Oh man!" They are both precious and sweet and I miss them every day when I'm at work. I can't wait to spend more time with them once I go part-time. Hubby is great, working hard at home both with his home business as a graphic designer and as Mr. Mom. We're really looking forward to some down-time as well as celebration time as Christmas comes.
Lastly, I would like to share with you all about a very incredible moment at a local church in my area that I was a part of. It took place just a couple of weeks ago and it was a privilege for me to help staff it. The event involved a country still in turmoil and her children still in grave danger. That country is Uganda and the night commuters are young, vulnerable kids (many of us first learned about them through Clay's visit to Uganda with UNICEF). The children continue to flee from the hands of their persuers each and every day, even today.
Please do stay tuned. I'll add to this blog about the brave, young woman who spoke at this event, whose name is Grace Akallo.
I look forward to sharing and hope folks can be challenged and changed by her story.
See you soon, and lots of blessings and hugs to you and yours! Extra blessings to Clay on his special day. :)
love, cn
