About ColtDancer
I am an early-childhood speech-language pathologist, specializing in sensory disorders combined with communication needs. I just recently switched jobs after six years to be closer to home. I have two "fur-children", a labeagle (lag/beagle mix)who goes to school with me and a teeny-tiny tabby cat.
The name 'ColtDancer' is nothing kinky, I promise - it is gleaned from my rook-out experience with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in 1996 (showing my age) as a member of their colorguard, where I was blessed to march World Finals and place in the Top 12. I am a self-professed band geak, and proud of it.
I have many irons in the fire, lots of things that interest me, and am always up for a chat since I spend much of my time shoveling through paperwork at my computer. Drop me a line!

Validity, Reliability, and Standard Deviations...
07/08/05 0 CommentsOkay. So after seeing the little advertisement in my hotmail window for I don't know how long, my body overrode my mind's ability to be logical and clicked on the little icon for that Tickle site's free IQ test. I guess I really wanted to watch my brain implode and hit the computer screen.
It wasn't as bad as I thought, but some of the questions had me swearing I would get them right even if it took me all night. So honestly, how reliable is this thing? I don't think there's a team of PhD's sitting on the other end monitoring my answers and getting excited.
While I was quite surprised at the results (which, tricky little weasels, they hold over your head AFTER you complete the questions and BEFORE you sign up for an account), how valid can this be?
And, if I take it again, manage to remember my answers, AND in the off-chance figure out the ones that stumped me....will it change....?
Eh, who likes being a number, anyhow. ;) A silly little number does not dictate what a person can really do; only said person can do that.
