Hey all,
Well...times just about up! Sept is the cut off for OFC membership, or so I've been lead to believe.
I have been having a time with my boyfriend...who isn't a boy actually, he's a 39 yr old man...
...who is what my Sister Jenn calls a "single woman with kids dream" because he loves to spend money on other people's children.
Quite an expensive habit - I might add.
He's been having difficulty lately with his blood pressure because 2 children that belong to 2 young women he thinks of as daughters are about to have their fates decided today in court.
1 is a 5 yr old girl, and she's just adorable...as is her 1/2 Brother/1/2 Cousin, Timmy...don't ask - suffice it to say that the Sisters who have these 2 kids had them by the same man. Hence their relationship.
The father of these kids is now in jail...long story.
The one Sister had her rights removed - and can only see her son via supervised visits.
The other Sister can have unsupervised visits and is allowed to have the child overnight - but only at my Boyfriends house. She still has custody rights - but not Physical Custody.
The Paternal Grandfather and his estranged Wife has filed for joint Guardianship -
- these children have for the past 4 months, been in Guardianship with their babysitter...
...a very nice woman who has 3 little boys - aged 4, 5 & 9.
Crowded house?...you betcha.
I like these kids - I have met them, gone to a couple fairs with them and last night we [my Boyfriend & I] took all of the kids to a McD's playland so they could have some fun.
I recently dyed my hair Radiant Ruby...makes it look near purple it's such a dark red.
The 5 yr old ran around the van last night to give me a hug and stopped short and said, "You changed your hair!" Then grabbed a lock of it and said "I like it!" Too cute.
I think I confused her Brother - he's 20 months old [same as my friend, Helen's, son] and looked at me like I was an alien or had 2 heads...funny.
So I had a great time with Lew, my BF, taking 5 little kids and 1 ten yr old girl to McD's all by ourselves...to let them run around.
It was fun, actually. They listened to us...and the little 4 yr old boy, who is a cry baby [admitted by his Mom], only got upset one time...because he put his hands on the Air Hockey table and got a finger smacked by the puck.
Guess I'm sorta attached to them...if the Paternal GF and his estranged wife get Guardianship today it's possible that my Boyfriend will never get to see these kids again...
...so today after court I may have a very upset man on my hands who thinks of these 2 little kids as Grandchildren.
Problem is that these children are now acclimated to their Guardian's house...and are comfortable there.
Well...I've had a lot going on the past few months. Lots of work here at the office to do...and lots of trying to counsel a very stubborn man who may lose contact with 2 kids he loves - even though they are not his children.
I guess by 3pm today or so, I will most likely get a text message telling me what happened.
