Nothing about Clay Aiken is easy. Finding the right words, defending your decisions, figuring out the mystery of the guy, the endless speculation of career and self. Always on the outside hoping for a small miracle, tidings of Clay.
He has always been 'the moment before the kiss' which is a pretty intense experience. How long can something like that last? Apparantly, 4 years and holding.
I had a VIP pass to the Kimmel show (very last minute) and I was having a nervous breakdown just thinking about being in the green room and bumping into Clay. What would I say? What would I do?
I doubted that he would hang out in the green room which is set up like a giant dark bar and my priority was to see the show as an ordinary fan. I did speak up and was planted in the audience with no fanfare, only the memory of a 1/4 glass of Chardonney & a dollar tip.
It was a fine show and Clay tossed some heart candy in my direction. My little momento says 'Bear Hug.'
Thank you Clay.
