I'm a young grandma with 1 married daughter and 3 grandkids. I work with the poor, homeless,drug addicted disenfranchised and otherwise displaced members of the community. I LOVE my work and wouldn't want to do anything else.

Future Plans: Spend my retirement years overseas with the Peace Corps.

    Identity Crisis!

    OK. I need help with this one. I'm losing weight. (YAY!) I don't know how much, my Dr. cancelled our appt on the 14th. (BOO!)

    But it's slow going, to say the least. So, I thought a change might be good.

    I've been thinking of changing my hair by getting a relaxer and letting go of my 'Fro.

    My grandkids say I'll look prettier that way. But straight hair is High Maintenance: curling irons, dep moisturizing, styling, visits to the hairdresser, etc, etc, etc.

    Afros are wash and go, fun and cool.

    Is mere beauty worth all that effort? I'm not all that sure I look better - when my hair was straight I used to wear make up too. And hey, let's face it, I'm only going to get so pretty anyway.

    And then there's the all important question: What Will Clay Like Better? [/delusional]

    Once I do it I can't change it for months so I'm sitting here dithering.
