For a long time, I’ve been the girl with the big boobs. To make this at least tangentially Clay-related, I remember before the Nashville NAT show I was wearing a top that displayed my cleavage, and was considering wearing a beautiful large garnet cross pendant. Jemock, LyricAKP and I figured that a cross nestled between two big boobs would be Clay’s idea of a perfect picture, but I decided to wear something else.
I sometimes wore clothes that emphasized my bosom, but more often than not, I just wanted them gone. I didn’t want to have people look at me and see my chest first. I also didn’t enjoy the pain and aggravation of carrying around two large, heavy objects that made my clothes fit wrong and my shoulders slump. I live in a city in which it seems there’s a “gentlemen’s club” on every corner, and I often wonder about the girls who’ve chosen to have augmentations that make them appear about to topple over at any minute. They seem to enjoy the attention, but man, what’s going to happen to them when they can’t “dance” any more and those things are just sitting there with no money making potential?
So I decided to have them reduced. It was about six weeks ago, and I’m starting to feel completely healed. I’m pleased with the results; my back doesn’t hurt, my clothes fit better, and there’s a perkiness I had never experienced even as a teenager. There is a Frankenboobie effect, however, and my very young daughters cover their eyes if they walk in while I’m dressing. Of course, I have a fabulous husband who loves me regardless of what I look like, and he’s happy, too.
The thing that is making me a little nuts is that everyone who knows me is now looking even harder. I guess they’re making mental comparisons or something. It’s funny to see the sidelong glances and surreptitious peeks as I come into a room. I want to yell, “OMG, just look at them and get over it, will ya’?” I’m sure in time everyone will get used to seeing me with this body, but for someone who didn’t want to be looked at, it’s a little freaky.
I guess we all make choices thinking we know what the results will be; but sometimes, there are unexpected surprises. I’d definitely recommend the procedure to anyone considering it.
