About andee1960

I've been a fan of Clay Aiken since I first saw him audition for AI2. His voice was incredible. I was intrigued, and continued to watch week after week. I was saddened when he got cut, but thrilled when he was asked back for the Wild Card Round. After he sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", I knew he had made it. And I was right!!! I continued to follow him week after week. My husband and I were on a cruise during Neil Sedaka week. When we got stateside the first thing I had to do was call and ask, "Did Clay make it through?" So, yes, I missed that incredible "Solitaire" performance the first time around.

Not only do I enjoy this man's singing voice, I adore his personality and humanitarian side. I think it's wonderful he "uses his voice" for causes that matter. Plus, he's really funny and sweet! No wonder he's such a hit on all the talk shows.

I have attended 5 concerts . I have traveled to Clearwater, FL, for the JNT05, and Greenville, SC, for the NAT. The other three (IT, SRHP, and JBT) have all been in GA. Since that's my home state, I don't miss out on those! The picture above is my own which I took at the JBT in Valdosta, GA. He's singing "A Thousand Days".

At my last concert in Atlanta, I did the bus line. My mom and I got a Clay handshake! That was so much fun and I'll never forget it.

I plan to travel to NYC this spring to see Spamalot. I can't wait. All of the reports from previous attendees are wonderful.

After five years following this man's career, I think it's safe to say he'll be around awhile. He has IT...I can't wait to hear his new CD which he is hoping to release in May.

I'm a fan for life.

Clay's Blog

I've decided to update my blog. I cannot believe it's been two months since I saw Clay live in Atlanta.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket From the Atlanta Journal Constitution...another one of the pretty pictures from August 15

At the time, I had just dropped my son off at college for his freshman year. So, the show was a real treat for me. I needed a pick-me-up.

Hubby and I just got back from Nashville, TN on Monday. I'm on fall break this week and we decided to go check on our son and see for ourselves how his year has been going. When we left Monday to return to GA, I did not shed one tear!!! This is so unlike my experiences with my daughter at this same stage, when I would weep copious amounts every time we visited and left her to come back to GA.

I think it's because my son is having a blast!!! He is doing well grade wise, has found a girlfriend, and is extremely into college life. He has surrounded himself with friends who appear to be well-grounded. Plus, he's at a small, private, liberal arts college with a beautiful campus. He's getting lots of personal attention from his professors. He's going to church on his own, without any hinting from me. What is there for me to be sad about? Not one thing. I am so happy that he is doing well. I just pray it continues!

We celebrated his 18th birthday up there at Maggiano's Little Italy in downtown Nashville. What an awesome dining experience! Live piano music washed over us as we consumed several Italian dishes. Dessert was tiramisu and creme brulee. Yum!

Another Nashville culinary delight was an excellent place known as the Pancake Pantry. The popularity of this well-known Nashville landmark is: "Rain, snow, or shine, there's always a line." That was the truth. I think we waited an hour on Sunday morning to get in. Those are the best pancakes I have ever had in my life. Simply wonderful. I highly recommend this place to all Nashville tourists. I definitely plan to go back there on my next trip to Music City USA.

We purchased a classical guitar for my son since he needed one for his studies. I'm excited that he is so into music. He is talking about an appearance by a Russian chamber orchestra at the college that he intends to experience. How cool is that? I know NOTHING about what a chamber orchestra is. But I find it incredibly cool that he does.

Even though I'm on fall break, I still have to do some school stuff. I'm reading some materials and looking at my calendar for the remainder of this semester. At least I can do it in a leisurely fashion.

Now, about my favorite singer/entertainer: I was so thrilled to see that Clay has been out and about in NYC. Loved the sighting at the UNICEF book launching party for Jenna Bush. I also enjoyed the casual Clay pictures of him walking down the street. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Mr. UNICEF Ambassador Clay Aiken hanging out with UNICEF VIP's...Let those bangs keep on growing, honey! I want the AIW hair for Christmas! LOL

There is so much to look forward to: the Sedaka tribute Oct. 26, AYSTAFG soon, Skating show, and then the Christmas in the Heartland tour!!! I'm a little sad about the last one since he's not heading south this time. His story request sounds like a neat way to include more fans in the concert experience. I'm anxious to see how this plays out. I'm sure Clay will make it work. He always brings it every time.

AI2 Rewind is going well. Our guy is doing a fabulous job narrating, and it won't be long before we get to see him, too!

Spamalot rumors? Very interesting! My hubby and son LOVE this kind of humor and have seen the show in Atlanta when it played the Fox Theatre back in March. I haven't said anything about Clay in it yet, though. Waiting for official word on that one.

CD news? I sure hope we get some soon! I am so ready for an all original pop CD. I'm ready for him to spill some news any day now.

And, finally, OFC updating. I do wonder what is going on with that. Guess we'll find out eventually.

Until next time. Or my next teacher break...in November!
