About andee1960
I've been a fan of Clay Aiken since I first saw him audition for AI2. His voice was incredible. I was intrigued, and continued to watch week after week. I was saddened when he got cut, but thrilled when he was asked back for the Wild Card Round. After he sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", I knew he had made it. And I was right!!! I continued to follow him week after week. My husband and I were on a cruise during Neil Sedaka week. When we got stateside the first thing I had to do was call and ask, "Did Clay make it through?" So, yes, I missed that incredible "Solitaire" performance the first time around.
Not only do I enjoy this man's singing voice, I adore his personality and humanitarian side. I think it's wonderful he "uses his voice" for causes that matter. Plus, he's really funny and sweet! No wonder he's such a hit on all the talk shows.
I have attended 5 concerts . I have traveled to Clearwater, FL, for the JNT05, and Greenville, SC, for the NAT. The other three (IT, SRHP, and JBT) have all been in GA. Since that's my home state, I don't miss out on those! The picture above is my own which I took at the JBT in Valdosta, GA. He's singing "A Thousand Days".
At my last concert in Atlanta, I did the bus line. My mom and I got a Clay handshake! That was so much fun and I'll never forget it.
I plan to travel to NYC this spring to see Spamalot. I can't wait. All of the reports from previous attendees are wonderful.
After five years following this man's career, I think it's safe to say he'll be around awhile. He has IT...I can't wait to hear his new CD which he is hoping to release in May.
I'm a fan for life.

Finding His Grail
01/20/08 9 CommentsPhoto by toni7babe What a week! Our favorite entertainer has now officially made his Broadway Debut. The publicity has been wonderful. The fanbase is energized and more united than I can remember in a very long time. It has been a lovefest since Friday night!! It is wonderful to see Clay Nation so excited about Clay's latest adventure as Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot!
The buzz started Wednesday when the first PR pics were released. Was it a wig, or not? LOL Now we know! Wig for sure.
The reports from the fan attendees have been marvelous. All seem to agree that Clay is doing an excellent job in his multi-role part. His big number, "You Won't Succeed on Broadway" is a hit with the fans and the regular Monty Python audience.
It has been amazing to watch the stage door videos taken by bigapple4clay and farouche. Our guy is a STAR!!! I love how he ignored the paparrazi and concentrated on the fans. That's our guy alright. He is a sweetheart.
I love how Jerome is with him as well. At Sunday's matinee performance, someone in the crowd commented that Clay should have worn a coat as it was freezing outside. Jerome reached out and put Clay's hoodie over his head. Awwww.... I am just soaking in all the recaps and pictures. It is awesome to get all the reports from Shubert Stage Alley.
I can't wait until it's my turn in April ... I can only do one show but I plan to enjoy it.
I'm so excited about this defining moment in Clay's career. And I think he knows it as well. The tears in his eyes opening night speak for themselves. What a man. What a performer. What a humanitarian.
Five years in this fandom. I think I'll stick around for as long as he is out there performing.
