LA Experience
09/28/06 1 CommentI just got back from LA and I have to say it was an amazing experience. I have to thank so many people for making it such a great experience. Janet and Nancy-I am so glad I got to share this with you- it's been a long 9 months and we've stuck together thru it all. I am so happy that you are my friends. And Sheila, thank you so much for being there with us and working with us to make it a positive experience for all of us.
Clay is an amazing person and I am so proud of him. I don't think I was ever prouder of him . He makes so many people happy and has such an amazing way with people-a few words from him means so much for so many. And he takes the time to do this. We were at the end of the CD signing line, and after 2+ hours of signing cd's etc, he was still gracious, humorous, and spoke kindly to everyone. I am amazed by him more and more each day. I made a point of telling him how very much I loved Lover All Alone and he told me to be nice to the radio stations-I will Clay-but they need to get their act together and start recognizing you as the great artist you are.
I feel I witnessed a career "moment" when Clay finally left the CD signing at Virgin Records and walked across Hollywood Blvd-it was heartstopping. We waited for him-all his fans were on both sides of the street, and we first saw Roger come out-so we knew he was coming soon. The cops were ready, and more and more security started to appear on the sidewalk. Then he came-surrounded by his security entourage, he looked so handsome, and the cops stopped traffic, and they all walked across. It was a career defining moment. Clay stopped traffic in LA !!! He looked so proud and happy and we were all clapping and cheering-he almost looked like he might cry-you could tell he was so pleased with the day. He gave us a slight wave and was in the theatre. We had witnessed a great moment in this still so new career.
I know you all saw the Kimmel Show, it was great to be there, and Clay was his usual very funny self. I was so happy they had all these really cute young fans in front, and the 2 girls who got their shoulders tatooed with his name were just so cute-I was really happy for Clay as he seemed genuinely amazed and touched that they would do that. The concert was amazing-he gave us much more than we expected-5 songs- and he was so on I couldn't belive it-it was like he had never been gone and everything was ok now. He put so much energy and soul into that performance-I will never forget it. He never lets us down, he gives us so much, and we are truly blessed to be his fans. I have just been thru an amazing 4 days, and the moments will be with me forever. It is my fervent hope that every Clay fan gets to meet Clay at some point in time and that you also get your moment-there is nothing like it and it will be in your heart forever. It is in mine.
Cindy.
