I just felt a yen to blog. Just because I've been on such a natural high the last few weeks and it's all thanks to our communal interest.
Mr.Clay Aiken
I love him to bits. What a whirlwind it has been for him and for us. First the ticket madness that, thankfully, is over for me for now. I'm so excited for my California Three-fer. Can't wait to meet so many "friends" - it is going to be a blast. And seeing Clay in concert three nights in a row?? My dream come true.
Next came TBAF Gala and all the Clack that emerged - the video and pictures from the auction was priceless and let us join in all the fun. How good he looked in that beard! And what an amazing amount of $$$ raised.
Along with the Gala, we had all the excitement of a Nascar race as we learned of the SixDegree fundraising competition. Do we love anything better than a competition? I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job by everyone.
Then we found out our guy was in Afghanistan. I'm so glad we didn't know beforehand. I would have been so worried.
But wait! A Unicef challenge has been announced. $100,000 to be raised for Clay's Afghanistan relief project?
PIECE OF CAKE! 10 days? You must be joking! There are prizes. It's now 9 or 10 days but I imagine when all is said and done,the total will be closer to $200,000. We're nothing if not "up to the challenge.
What really has me wound up, though was the release of the video of Clay's trip. Three simple words spoken with love and gentleness that stuck the fandom and exploded ovaries throughout Claynation:
"All done, darlin"
Clay, you are a diamond in the rough. As the world tries to grapple with so much sadness and evil, there you are. You are our champion and we love you to bits.
I'm so proud to call myself your fan. I wouldn't have missed this experience for anything in the world.
